Letter from Suze
Okay, lets get this straight from the beginning: it's about my nickname.
Suze Ormon thinks
that Suze spells Suzy or Susie or some sort of two-syllable moniker. You and I know that Suze is pronounced to rhyme with
Ooze. And whether it's attractive or not, it is what people who know me well often call me. ( Sometimes the truth hurts.)
If you know me well enough to explore this web site, then you surely know me well enough to call me Suze. Just
don't push it.
This web site marks a change of lifestyle (that's change of lifestyle, I've already done the change
of life business) for me-after almost seven years of living full time in France, I have returned to the U.S. I have made a
commitment to the Born to Shop tour business and am signing up with a speaker's bureau. I would imagine I'll be giving up
my French residency by next year. Hell, it's almost next year already.
Along with the more public aspects of getting
the Born to Shop information systems rolling, comes a new book and my continued efforts on behalf of the Born to Shop series.
I work with Sarah Lahey, Editorial Director of Born to Shop; our next title is slightly different from others-- Born to Shop,
Sip & Sup: Napa & Sonoma. Instead of jsut revising the Born to Shop San Francisco edition, we're dumping it to concentrate
on the two valleys and the grapes. Suzygershman.com gives me a chance to
keep in touch, to give you information about my work and my house in Provence which is for rent, maybe even for sale. I also
do a blog-- go to the link on the home page of my site to connect. This will update you on my travels and most importantly,
to update you on the travel/shopping scene in cities as I visit them. With a book, we have at least six months of pre-publication
time that is lost. When I am not on the road, I do The Shopping Detective: Look What I Found about cool merchandise. I do
write exclusive material for Peter Greenberg, one of my oldest friends and the Travel Editor of CBS News. For that work, go
